Venues
Bella Vista
I could not fault them in any way. They were so organised and everything went according to plan. My bridesmaids and myself stayed there the night before and got ready there on the day. We also married in the garden which was just beautiful. Everything - the food and atmosphere was just perfect and all of the guests had a great time.

Bella Vista
We loved our reception and according to the feedback from our guests they had a ball too. The food was great, especially those chicken tender strips walked around at the beginning and the service was really good too. They did everything they said they would and there were no nasty surprises.

Belmont 16 footers
I couldnt fault them on the day, they did a great job. We were annoyed when they tried to put the price up on us though and we didnt realise until the last minute that our package was only cheap caraf wine, so had to upgrade to bottles.

City Hall Newcastle
We had the main ball room and it was fabulous. It was great having a band up on a real stage. Heaps of room to move, and the room to the side for the guests to have canapes in is very professional feeling too.

Esca Restaurant at Bimbadgen Estate Hunter Valley
Give these guys a miss. It's a beautiful venue and the food is delicious but everything was just so hard and they seemed like amateurs. Trying to get any information out of them was like trying to pull out teeth. -We didn't even know the canape or vegetarian meal options because the chef just decides on the day. The venue coordinator was hard to contact as she was 'very busy' with other stuff and when we did speak to her she wasn't really able to answer questions. On the wedding day, they were still finishing setting up the venue when we walked in. They decorated the venue incorrectly and unfortunately it was the first thing I noticed. They stuffed up our seating arrangements. The menu they had printed on a tacky piece of paper and put on the tables had my name spelt wrong! Ignored our special request and served a normal kids meal to a child with severe allergies. We were told that no alcohol would be on the tables and people would be served their wine - well the only thing to drink on the tables was water so everyone was having to go to the bar and get their drinks even if it was just a kid wanting a soft drink. Fancy paying $122 per head for our guests to have to go to the bar to get a drink. It was the worst wedding reception I've been to and unfortuantely it was mine. I was so embarrassed. And nice to know that after spending over $10K on a venue, we have never heard from them again. Not even a quick email to ask if everything went OK.

Harbourview
We had a cocktail reception at Harbourview and it was fantastic - we didn’t really know what to expect as neither of us had been to a cocktail reception ourselves, but the portions were huge and fantastically presented, the room looked great and everyone was so impressed with the evening. The night ran really smoothly and the people that worked on the night were great – very friendly and accommodating. We did have some “moments” with the coordinating side of it - nice enough people but not very on to it at times. We booked the place without ever having seen it since we live in NZ, and we weren’t difficult customers! Also we thought the place seemed quite dated – if I had the choice again, I probably wouldn’t choose Harbourview for that reason. However, we found it was good value for money, and we did have a great night there.

Hunter Valley Gardens
The very first co-ordinator, Cassie was fantastic! But as the event got closer, thier was a new co-ordinator, Sarah. Very hopeless at the position compared to Cassie. Then the event was 2 weeks away, only to find out that thier was this total new co-ordinator who hadn't done 1 wedding before! It wasn't the co-ordinators fault but we felt really really let down. And to find out that the Hunter Valley Gardens was now classified as a total different place was just a huge shock to us!!!

Memories Function Centre Wallsend
This place is nice and new, and make fantastic cocktails, but I'd have to say the dance floor was too small, so watch the number of people you invite...

Noahs on the Beach
Just the prefect spot really. The planning process was just so stress-free with Noahs wedding coordinator to help every step of the way. One of my best memories of my wedding day was sitting in the private area having drinks and canapes with the bridal party while we watched our guests enjoying themselves in the bar before the reception started. Just advise guests to pre-book taxis home as there was lots of trouble getting taxis at the end of the night!

Noahs on the Beach
My friend got married here and it was really nice. Great food, and my favourite part was the bridal party getting their own private canapes session in the cosy bar before entering the reception.
